This Fir Serving Board was handcrafted from a piece of dockboard driftwood that had washed up on the shores of Okanagan Lake here in BC. The unique characteristics of this whole board was so gorgeous we had to encase it in vegetable based resin to preserve it forever and then finished the bottom side in a smooth natural finish with some resin showing through along with the age old metal staining.
This board is baby soft smooth and quite heavy at almost 9 pounds!!
A finger hold was routed into the bottom side to make it easy to lift once filled with tasty treats!
Due to the cost and that it's covered in Resin this board would be best suited for a Charcuterie or Serving Board and not used for a cutting board although a large part of the smooth bottom side could be used to cut on if preferred.
Will make someone a wonderful heirloom board to accent their kitchen, a piece of art, use for Charcuterie or just an amazing conversation piece!
