This "Homestead" Fir cutting board was crafted from a reclaimed vintage board that once was a part of a very old dock that was storm damaged and it washed ashore. A considerable amount of time was invested into this amazing board. Every line was meticulously engraved and scribed to honour the pioneers of days gone by recreating a special that closely resembles a kitchen tool that they would have used and handed down that is why we christened it with the "Homestead" label. The unique characteristics of the face was so gorgeous we had to preserve it. Hope you love it as much as we do! The underside was left natural and oiled with an all natural Canadian Hemp oil for cutting or food prep.
Will make someone a wonderful heirloom board to accent their kitchen, use for Charcuterie or just an amazing conversation piece!
Majority of the cracks and open knots that add so much character were resin filled to make it easier to clean up when using.
This is a one of a kind board so grab it if you want it as we only handcrafted a few of them and they all have different characteristics!!
